Pinnacle Fire, Austin 2011, Drought of Record. The first drop went into the park adjacent our house, 200 feet from our kitchen. It was a perfect drop and plausibly saved our house. University of Texas fire researchers found that live fuel moisture was almost identical to dead fuel moisture. This just doesn’t happen in our old climate.
