Giant Sequoia Killed by Bark Beetles

Beetle kill, Sequoia National Monument, Trail of 100 Giants. The monument is just south of Sequoia National Park. The cut trees are mostly sugar pine killed by pine bark beetles  felled to prevent tourist mortality, but centered in the background is a single sequoia giant killed by bark beetles.
