Rocky Mountain National Park Beetle Kill

The native mountain pine bark beetle responsible for this forest mortality is a native beetle, driven berserk from warming. Over 10,000 beetles can attack a single tree where their galleries beneath the bark girdle the tree killing it rather quickly.
