Bastrop Complex Fire, Bastrop Texas, 30 miles east of Austin, 1,673 homes destroyed 34,000 acres burned. It was caused by the new Drought of Record in Texas in combination with tropical storm Lee in Louisiana with winds gusting to 30 mph. One hundred times more homes were destroyed in this fire than in any previous fire in Texas.
